IND vs ENG: Jaiswal Massive 179* Help To India For Reach in Strong Position, See Here Full Highlight of Match

IND vs ENG: At stumps on Friday, India was 1-0 in the five-Test series and posted 336/6 with Jaiswal at the crease, along with Ravichandran Ashwin (who is still not out).

Shoaib Bahir, England’s debutant spinner, took two crucial wickets, including Rohit Sharma (14), and James Anderson added to his 690-wicket record before the Test.

Jaiswal, in particular, counter-attacked left-arm spinner Tom Hartley by hitting three successive boundaries. Hartley was the victim of a six from Jaiswal to celebrate his second test century.

This is also his first Test hundred at home. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 17 fours and five sixes in his 257 unbeaten balls on Friday.

Jaiswal continued his aggressive approach after completing his ton and guided India through the last hour despite Axar Bharat (17) and KS Patel (27) being dismissed.

Bashir, who was late because of a visa issue, showed discipline by claiming Axar’s wicket. He also displayed his versatility and guile during his seventh match in first class. Rajat Patidar, a debutant, scored 32 runs before Rehan Ahmad bowled him.

Hartley, England’s star performer in the last Test, dismissed Shreyas Iyer for 27 against all the odds.

Jaiswal & Rohit had guided India to a 40-0 score in the first half-hour before Bashir broke the deadlock in the second over following the drinks break.

Bashir dismissed Rohit after 14 minutes, and Anderson caught Shubman Gill behind at 34. India is determined to recover after their loss in the first match of the series in Hyderabad.

Rajat Patidar Debuts For India In the 2nd Test against England

IND vs ENG Playing 11 for the 2nd Test: Mohammed Siraj was rested, and Mukesh Kumrah replaced him. Kuldeep Yadav played in place of Ravindra Jadeja, who was injured. Patidar replaces KL Rahul.

The second Test between England and India, led by Ben Stokes at Dr. Y.S. On Friday, February 2, the Rajasekhara ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam will host the second Test.

Both teams are concerned about injuries after the first Test in Hyderabad. The Playing 11s have changed. England announced its Playing 11 today, just like the first Test.

England has made two changes to their Playing 11, compared to the first Test. A veteran pacer, James Anderson, has replaced Mark Wood as part of the England Playing 11, while Shoaib Bahir is in place of Jack Leach.

Zaheer Khan, a former Indian fast bowler, handed Rajat Patidar his debut cap before the toss. Sarfaraz will have to wait until he gets his chance.

Saurabh Kumar was not playing at Vizag, so there was no cap-giving ceremony. India has made two other changes to their Playing 11.

Mohammed Siraj was rested, Mukesh Kumruh replaced him in India’s XI, and Kuldeep Yadav took the place of Ravindra Jadeja, who was injured.

“My First Dream Was To Play Test Cricket”

Rajat Patidar is a household name, thanks to his performances. He made his ODI debut against South Africa at Paarl in December last year, but Patidar says his ultimate goal has always been to represent India in Test cricket.

Since his debut in 2015, he has played in the Indian domestic circuit. In 55 matches, he has amassed 4000 runs at a 45.97 average with 12 centuries and 22 have centuries.

“To receive my first call-up for a Test match after an injury is something I am pleased about. It was my first dream to play Test cricket for India. When I received the call, I was playing for India A, and it was a great feeling,” he said.

IND vs ENG: Day 1 Full Highlights

  • Rohit Sharma’s decision to bat has left England with a daunting task. They will have to bat fourth on a wicket that promises to run for the first two days before spinners begin dictating the terms.
  • Rohit could not take advantage of the ideal batting conditions and lost to Shoaib Bahir, a debutant off spinner.
  • Bashir, unable to play the first match of the series in Hyderabad due to a visa issue, scored in his fourth over when Rohit (14) nudged a ball toward Ollie Pope at the leg slip.
  • James Anderson cut short Shubman’s fluent 34-run knock.
  • Gill was caught in the rear by the 41-year-old, who had replaced Mark Wood as England’s lone quick bowler for the match. This happened close to lunch.
  • Jaiswal and Shreyas partnered for a 90-run stand that helped to stabilise the innings. The left-hander hit Tom Hartley three times in a row for fours and then brought up his second Test hundred with an enormous six off the spinner.
  • Jaiswal raised his arms and dropped his bat, taking in the applause. But Iyer (27) couldn’t convert his start and was caught behind Hartley.
  • Rajat Patidar, 30, earned his first test cap after KL Rahul (batsman) and Ravindra Jadeja (all-rounder) were injured. The 30-year-old looked determined to make the most of it.
  • Patidar scored 32 points before defending Rehan Ahmed’s ball, which bounced off the stump and hit it.
  • Axar Patel (27), who also gave away his wicket, cut Bashir straight to Ahmed on the point.
  • The English duo switched positions to remove Srikar Bharat (17), whose dismissal was nearly identical.
