National Javelin Throw Day Important Facts and Figures

Every year 7th August we celebrate National Javelin Throw Day. This special day honors the javelin throw sports which make our country proud.

Do you know why it is celebrated on this day, why we select only 7th August not the other? You get all of your answers in this blog. So, keep delving into it.

Significance of Javelin Throw Day

This day is essential for every Indian because, on 7th August 2021, Neeraj Chopra won a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2021 after throwing a javelin of 87.58 meters. At this time we celebrate the 4th edition of national javelin throw day.

So, from that moment we celebrate National Javelin Throw Day in honor of Neeraj Chopra. It was a very proud moment for us because he was the only Indian who won the Gold medal in this sport.

If we talk about the Olympics we only won 2 gold medals in the individual category. Before Neeraj Chopra, Abhinav Bindra had brought a gold medal for India in the 2008 China Beijing Olympics in the 10-meter air rifle shooting.

Now everyone from Neeraj Chopra gets inspired by this sport and now in every home, at least one child gets to participate in athletics.

So, it is good for us and India also because in athletics we have very little chance of winning medals we qualify for the Olympics but with less training, we never win the medal.

So, from this game we are aware also and one time came when we get more & more golds in upcoming Olympics.
