He said that the Modi 3.0 Government would do everything possible to build a nation called Viksit Bharat.

Modi, who slammed the previous Congress-led government for mismanaging the economy, told Rajya Sabha his government had been working to develop every section of society in the last ten years.

Modi said that India had moved from the “Fragile Five” during the Congress-led U.P.A. to become one of the five largest economies in the world.

In his 90-minute spirited reply to the Rajya Sabha‘s discussion on the motion to thank the President for the address, the Prime Minister said: “Sabka Saath isn’t a slogan. It’s Modi’s Guarantee.”

He said that the government aims to turn India into a developed nation by 2047, when India celebrates its 100th anniversary of independence.

Fact: Why PM Modi and the BJP Are So Confident About Their ‘Mission 400 or Modi 3.0″

In his Monday reply to the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the President’s Address in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi exuded confidence, saying that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA’s) third term was “not far away”.

He predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would win 370 seats and, along with its allies, NDA would cross 400 seats at the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

It is the first public statement made by a BJP leader about the ‘Mission 400.’ The BJP announced a few weeks ago that it aimed to reach a 50% share of the vote in the elections.

The saffron-coloured party’s chances have been boosted by the 3-0 victory against the Congress at the state elections, which surprised most pollsters.

Also, the opening of the Ram Mandir has created a positive hunger across the country. The BJP and Prime Minister Modi have a few reasons to be confident.

I.N.D.I.A Bloc’s Sorry Take Off

The United Opposition bloc, launched in July of last year with great fanfare, has lost its steam. It has become so diluted that it resembles the U.P.A. from yesteryears.

Nitish Kumru, the chief minister of Bihar and the leader of the Janata Dal United, had ambitions to become the convenor of the I.N.D.I.A. He has now made a “ghar wapsi” to the NDA Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister, and the Trinamool Congress head has taken the “ekla chore” policy to go it alone.

Aam Aadmi Party and Congress will contest separately in Punjab. Last year, the formation of the I.N.D.I.A. The bloc and the buzz surrounding it sparked the idea that it could neutralise TINA (‘there is no other alternative’), which helped the BJP to win in 2019—the I.N.D.I.A block was in the fray, and people had a choice. The TINA factor could work again in Modi’s favour now that the alliance is in chaos.

A Weakened Congress

Even some of its most ardent supporters believe that the Congress needs to be able to defeat the BJP. Its defeat in the Hindi heartland demotivated its second-rung leaders and cadre.

In his speech in Parliament, Modi attacked dynasty-based politics and claimed that the Congress was on the verge of closing its shop for trying to “launch the same product over and over again” (read Rahul Gandhi).

The Congress has been wiped out for 2024 because of its tactical mistakes. These include boycotting the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir ceremony, taking a hard line in seat-sharing discussions, and launching the second leg of Bharat Yodo Yatra when it should have focused on preparing for the general election.

Economic Delivery

PM Modi is confident that he’s delivered on the front of economics. India’s economy is currently the fifth-largest in the world. The ‘Modi Guarantee’ will ensure that India becomes the third-largest by his third term.

This is much earlier than the UPA-II’s target of 2044. PM Modi uses the slogan, “10 years vs.70 years”, to show that his government is better than Manmohan’s 10-year tenure and all other prime ministers combined.

Modi believes his voters will see him as a more effective leader than his rivals in resolving issues such as economic disparity, price increases, agricultural distress, and unemployment.

Modi hopes that voters will find him a better leader for solving these issues than his rivals.

While Modi speaks of aspirational politics, the opposition talks about a caste count, which many middle-class people believe will take the country in the wrong direction.

A Large Pool Of Loyal Labharthis

The BJP has lifted 25 crore people from multidimensional poverty. It has constructed 4 crore rural homes. It has built a loyal voter base by launching a series of schemes aimed at women, youth, farmers, and low-income people.

Estimates suggest that there are approximately 25 crore Labharthis. This segment of voters is now voting based on socio-economic class rather than caste.

Voting is a decision based on hope and anger. Modi’s schemes generated hope among beneficiaries, leading to the continued political support of 4 key cohorts – gareeb and Kisan (farmers), youth and women.

Continued Support Of OBCs

OBCs comprise the largest share of India’s population, ranging between 45% and 50%. The BJP is the preferred party for the lower/most backwards OBCs, as PM Modi himself is an OBC leader, and the BJP adopts a strategy that opposes dominant OBC politics within the Hindi heartland.

According to the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (C.S.D.S.), OBC support for the BJP has doubled over the last ten years, from 23% to 44%.

The BJP also neutralised Rahul Gandhi’s caste census pitch as it did not follow through. The BJP has punctured Rahul Gandhi’s jitni abadi utnahaq (rights proportional with population) slogan by awarding Karpoori Thakur the Bharat Ratna and bringing Nitish Kumar back to the NDA fold.

‘Zero Tolerance’ for Corruption

PM Modi’s government has made it clear that they have zero tolerance for corruption. The raids by the Enforcement Directorate (E.D.) on opposition leaders and the arrests that followed many prominent names helped the BJP to build a narrative about the corruption in the opposition.

The raids also boost Modi’s image of being incorruptible. The BJP used the 2G, Commonwealth Games, and controversial land deals involving Rahul’s brother-in-law, Robert Vadra, to attack Congress during the 2014 election.

This time, it is the E.D. arrests. The BJP can counteract this perception, even though some believe it uses the central agency to silence its competitors. Can the NDA reach 400 seats by 2024? The BJP is giving its best shot to the NDA.
