Vikrant Massey, a massive success in ’12th Fail”, has now been signed up for the next “The Sabarmati Report.” The project, which Ektaa Kapoor backs, will also star Raashii Kanna and Riddi D’ogra in significant roles.
The film is based on the true-life incident in 2002, The Sabarmati Express Fire, that caused havoc and shocked the nation. The film will be released in cinemas on May 3, 2024.
Ektaa Kapoor Announces The Sabarmati Report’
Vikrant and Ektaa Massey have reunited after the ‘Broken But Beautiful franchise’ for the next movie, ‘The Sabarmati Report‘. Ranjan Chandel directs the film, which will be released on May 3, 2020.
The new project was announced via a video posted on Instagram. “Get ready for a thrilling journey through history – The Sabarmati report – an incident from 2002 that has left an indelible impression on the nation. “In cinemas 3rd of May 2024”, read the caption.
Vikrant’s new film is based on this true-life incident. On February 27, 2002, the Sabarmati Express train departing from Godhra Station in Gujarat was set ablaze by a mob.
Fifty-nine people were killed in this incident as they returned from Ayodhya. After the incident, riots erupted across Gujarat.

Vikrant Massey, born on April 3, 1987, is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi movies and TV shows. He finished his education at R. D. National College and started his acting journey with the show “Dhoom Machaao Dhoom” in 2007.
He also appeared in TV serials like “Dharam Veer” (2008), “Balika Vadhu” (2009–2010), and “Qubool Hai” (2013). Massey later moved on to films, taking on supporting roles in movies like “Lootera” (2013), “Dil Dhadakne Do” (2015), and “Half Girlfriend” (2017).
