MS Dhoni is no longer an active international cricketer. MS Dhoni has announced his retirement from international cricket.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star announced his decision to retire from all forms of international cricket in August 2020, just a year after he last played in an international match.

Even though he’s the sole India captain to have won the T20 World Cup, way in 2007, if offered the chance to play, the Indian team’s management will be keen to capitalise on his experiences if India attempts to end the ICC championship drought.

When discussing the Indian T20 World Cup team selection on the Club Prairie Fire podcast, which included Rohit’s previous Deccan Charger captain, Adam Gilchrist, and former England captain, Michael Vaughan, Rohit said that even though it will be challenging to persuade Dhoni to join the squad, he’ll stay living in the USA.

“It’ll be difficult to convince MSD to go back to the West Indies, I guess. He’s tired. However, he’s going to the US to pursue a different goal.

He’s a golfer, so I suppose he’s going for golf,” said Sharma when Gilchrist suggested joining Dhoni. Dinesh Kartik was a possibility for an appearance at the T20 World Cup scheduled in the USA and West Indies in June.

Rohit Sharma was all praise of his former captain Dhoni and his four-ball 20 against MI, which turned out to be the main difference between the two teams during their game with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

“Quite amazed, particularly with Dinesh’s way of playing. Batted a few days ago,” Rohit said.
