Apple iPhone 17 Launch Date & Complete Specification Released, See Here

According to a report, Apple iPhone 17 will be equipped with OLED screens upgraded for a faster refresh rate. Apple’s newest ‘Pro” models feature OLED screens that use low-temperature polycrystalline dioxide (LTPO) to allow for a refresh rate of 1Hz.

This allows the premium handsets from the company to have an almost static display. Apple’s iPhone 17 models could be upgraded to support this feature with the inclusion of upgraded screens.

According to a report by The Elec in Korea, citing supply-chain reports, Apple plans to equip the iPhone 17 Plus and iPhone 17 with LTPO screens.

These phones will debut in the second quarter of 2025. They are the successors to upcoming iPhone 16 models.

Apple introduced the technology on its iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and current generation iPhone 15 Pro models.

According to these predictions, the iPhone 17 Plus and iPhone 17 will be the first iPhone standard models with an OLED display that has a 120Hz rate of refresh.

The company’s non-Pro models currently have a 60Hz refresh rate, whereas the 120Hz ProMotion screens are reserved for more expensive phones.

The inclusion of LTPO-AMOLED screens will allow the iPhone 17 line to support the Always-On Display mode, which was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro.

iOS dims its lock screen and reduces the refresh rate of the display to 1Hz, unlike most Android phones that have a black display always on with only text for the time and notifications.

According to the report, Apple supplier BOE will produce these displays by next year. It’s important to take these claims with a pinch of salt.

Apple will unveil its iPhone 16 series in late this year. The Apple iPhone 17 launch date is between second half of 2025.

There are Six Reasons Why You Should Buy iPhone 17

Apple’s iPhone roadmap is several years in the future. The company works with suppliers to develop several iPhone models simultaneously, which is how we get some rumored features so early.

Apple’s iPhone 17 series follows the same pattern, and we already have a good idea of what Apple’s smartphone lineup will look like in 2025.

Here are six features we expect to see in the iPhone 17 series. It is expected to be released sometime in September 2025.

Face Recognition Under Display

It isexpected that the iPhone 17 Pro will be the first iPhone with under-panel FaceID technology. Face ID will be visible only through a circular cutout in the display for the front camera.

Apple’s premium model will likely be the last to feature a circular cutout on the front-facing cameras. Apple will then adopt under-display camera technology in its “Pro” iPhones for 2027, allowing them to have a “full-screen” look.

Larger Standard Devices

Rumors suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro will have larger displays, moving from 6.12 inches to 6.27 inches. Apple will bring larger display sizes of 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches to the iPhone 17 Plus and iPhone 17 in 2025.

Expect the iPhone 17 to have a higher aspect ratio, which is 19.6:9. This means that the phones will be slightly wider but not necessarily taller.

120Hz ProMotion (Always-on Display)

Apple plans to extend ProMotion in 2025 to all standard models, allowing smoother scrolling of video content and smoother scrolling when needed.

The promotion will also allow the iPhone 17 Plus and iPhone 17 to have a display with a lower refresh rate of 1Hz. This allows for an always-on screen that shows the Lock Screen clock, widgets, and notifications even when the phone is locked.

Apple Wi-Fi-7 Chip

Apple’s 2025 premium models will be the first to feature a Wi-Fi 7 processor designed by Apple. Wi-Fi 7 would enable the “Pro” models of the iPhone to simultaneously send and receive data on the 2.4GHz band, the 5GHz band, and the 6GHz band with a router that supports it.

This would result in faster Wi-Fi speed, lower latency, and more reliable connectivity. Apple would be able to reduce its dependence on external suppliers, such as Broadcom, which provides a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip for iPhones.

48MP Telephoto Lens

Apple’s biggest premium device will have a 48-megapixel Telephoto upgrade that is optimized to work with the upcoming Vision Pro headset. This headset will launch on 2nd February 2024.

The current iPhone 15 Pro models have 48-megapixel main lenses, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lenses, and 12-megapixel Telephoto lenses.

The “Pro Max” of 2025 would be the first iPhone with a 48-megapixel rear camera system, allowing it to capture even more detail.

24MP Selfie Camera

According to a rumor, the iPhone 17 will have a 24-megapixel camera on its front with a 6-element lens. According to a rumor, the iPhone 16 will feature the same 12-megapixel front-facing lens as its predecessors.

The iPhone 17’s upgraded resolution of 24 megapixels will ensure that photos will retain their quality, even if they are cropped or enlarged. Upgrading to a 6-element lens will also improve image quality.
