New Captain of SRH: According to the latest reports, Australia captain Pat Cummins has the best chance of replacing Aiden Markram in SunRisers Hyderabad as the new captain.

The Orange Army purchased the Australian speedster at a record price of INR 20.75 crore during last year’s IPL Auction, making him the second most expensive player in tournament history.

Pat Cummins helped Australia win their sixth World title in November of last year by beating India in the World Cup Final in Ahmedabad.

Cummins helped Australia win its first World Test Championship (WTC), beating India. SRH could be influenced by the fact that Cummins and Daniel Vettori worked together on the national team.

Markram led the team for the past two years, but he was unable to help SRH achieve success. Markram, on the other hand, is a proven leader, having led SunRisers Eastern Cape, South Africa’s SA20 League, to two consecutive titles.

SRH Could Sack Aiden Markram And Name Pat Cummins As The New Captain

Sunrisers Hyderabad could make a major change to their leadership team ahead of the next season of IPL. They might replace their captain.

After a disappointing season last year under Aiden Markram, the 2016 IPL champions will likely name Australia’s Pat Cummins to be their new captain.

SRH spent a staggering INR 20.5 crore to sign Cummins, the second-most expensive player in league history. The owners were determined to sign Australia’s ODI World Cup-winning captain, Daniel Vettori.

Vettori, who is the new head coach at Sunrisers Hyderabad and Cummins, are both international cricketers. A report on Cricbuzz suggests that the franchise may name the Australian star as its new captain within the next few days.

SRH was at the bottom of last year’s points table after only winning four of 14 matches. The franchise made a major decision when it parted ways with Brian Lara, their former head coach. Vettori replaced him.

Markram led SunRisers Eastern Cape (a subsidiary of this franchise) to their second SA20 title in a row but has failed to impress as the skipper for Hyderabad so far.

Cummins, on the other hand led Australia to World Test Championships and ODI World Cups in 2023 that boosted his reputation as a skipper.

SRH has also signed Travis Head and Wanindu Hazaranga, as the management will have a difficult time deciding which four stars to choose from overseas.

The same report suggested that Dale Steyn will also miss the upcoming season, as he requested a break from duties. He is expected to return to the franchise in IPL 2020 if all goes well.

Stern has been named SRH’s bowling coach for IPL 2022. He worked with many young talents in the squad, including Umran Malik and T Natarajan. He also groomed Kartik Tyagi, Marco Jansen and Marco Jansen.

Steyn Will Take A Break From Coaching Duties

Dale Steyn will be taking a break from coaching duties in the upcoming season. He has requested permission to do so. Steyn informed team management and franchise owners of his decision, according to Cricbuzz.

It is anticipated that the right-arm seamer will return to the team next season. This depends on all arrangements and requirements. Vettori will be the one to make the final decision on a new bowling instructor for the upcoming cricket season.

Dale Steyn, upon returning to the Orange Army in 2022 as the bowling coach, was credited with training and bringing on the international stage a rookie such as Umran Malik, who broke the Internet with his supreme speed.

The Board of Control of Cricket in India awarded the pace bowler a central contract. SunRisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will face off in an away match on 23 March.
