IND vs ENG: 1st Warm up Match Washed by Rain

Persistent rain on Saturday washed out the World Cup warm-up match between IND vs ENG at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, starting with rain showers prior to the toss being delayed until umpires decided, shortly before 6 pm local time, to abandon due to inclement weather.

All 10 teams will play two warm-up matches ahead of the start of group stage play at the 50-over World Cup on October 5 in Ahmedabad, with England facing New Zealand as part of their opening match and staying in Guwahati to face Bangladesh for their second and final warm-up match on October 2.

India, who completed a 2-1 series win against Australia on Thursday, will fly directly from Guwahati to Thiruvananthapuram for their second warm-up match against Netherlands on October 3.

On Friday, warm-up matches started when Sri Lanka was defeated seven wickets by Bangladesh. At the same time, New Zealand triumphed over Pakistan in Hyderabad during a high-scoring contest.

These warm-up matches will take place simultaneously across Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad venues.
