Well, that’s it – it’s over. Indian fans will likely feel joy at the conclusion, while South Africans might be left feeling somewhat bittersweet about the series’ implications for Test matches and cricket in general.

Time will tell how it ranks overall; perhaps old-school cricket fans won’t understand some of the narratives developed throughout it (such as Broad versus Warner during Ashes).

Another consideration: whether India was involved would affect how successful such two-match Series are; also, this marks Dean Elgar’s cricket career and what many see as the end of an era in Test cricket – means this Series may mark Dean Elgar’s cricket career (many would consider).

This ground will always hold a special place in my heart; it was where it all started and will always remain a fond memory.

Our journey began in 2018 when we decided to make an impactful statement through spinners in India doing more work, our bowling unit being experienced enough and being willing to fight through changes within our team, especially as spinners are used more than usual, also going through changes within ourselves we fought until the very last match;

Taking patience through it all is not easy, but I was glad this game went by so quickly; also we wanted to bat first, but test cricket can always throws up surprises on any given day – what an incredible series it all was.

Wish I’d done more in this game. Still very proud of my performance in Centurion; it feels great being able to contribute towards an important cause.

Conditions were difficult throughout, but the 3-Test Series would have been incredible – Bumrah deserves recognition for his superb abilities, making for exciting challenges as you strive to test yourself.

But we made great memories together over our journey together; thank goodness they won’t have to face us again soon enough. I am extremely thankful to have played alongside them.

This is my best score in Test cricket history. I focused on hitting the right spots and being consistent. After my previous match was such an embarrassment due to lack of consistency, I worked tirelessly on improving it and was relentless with my lengths.

Bumrah receives information faster when we play together, so we’re trying to analyse wickets more quickly as a pair. (Message to Fans) Thank you so much, and please continue supporting the Indian cricket team and me.

India bowled brilliantly and exploited the conditions. Our young players still had much to be proud of in terms of effort; the 1-1 result was an outstanding achievement compared to what would have been possible had they won both innings 2-0. Aiden batted brilliantly during both innings, as evidenced by India’s bowling.
