IPL Auction 2024 Full Highlights: Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins from Australia dominated the auction, while uncapped Indian players earned big bucks at this sale.
Pat Cummins, who had a fantastic year in cricket, cashed in by fetching an astonishing price tag of Rs20.50 crore; Mitchell Starc also went past this mark.
Sunrisers Hyderabad paid this record price for Australian captain Cummins; however, it lasted only temporarily as fellow Australian pace stalwart Mitchell Starc was taken over by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at an eye-watering Rs24.75 crore price for his return after eight years away.
CSK participated in an intense bidding war for Daryl Mitchell and purchased him at Rs14 crore. In contrast, PBKS purchased Harshal Patel for Rs11.75 crore and Alzarri Joseph for Rs11.50 million from RCB, while Travis Head from Australia’s World Cup Final winning side was bought for Rs11.50 million by SRH; neither Steve Smith nor Josh Hazlewood has yet been sold off to another franchise.
Shubham Dubey, Shahrukh Khan, and Sameer Rizvi were the most highly sought-after uncapped Indian players then. Rizvi went to CSK for Rs8.40 billion, Dubey went to RR at 5.8 billion, and GT purchased Shahrukh for 7.40 billion.
