Junior Mehmood died peacefully at his Khar home in Mumbai at age 67 due to complications caused by stomach cancer, which worsened over Friday night.

Junior worked on over 250 films during his five-decade career. Recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer two weeks prior, Junior has been actively fighting this illness for both weeks now.

Trendmyth.com reports that Junior Mehmood died early Sunday morning at his home of stomach cancer, and may he rest peacefully. His family issued a statement notifying fans and colleagues of this news.

Husnain Husnain, Junior Mehmood’s son, told indianexpress.com that they recently discovered Junior had stomach cancer at the fourth stage 18 days ago and took him to Tata Memorial Hospital; there, the dean told us chemotherapy treatment would likely be painful at this stage and suggested we care for him at home instead of hospital.”

Junior Mehmood made several successful film appearances, such as Mera Naamjoker, Parvarish, and Do Aur Do Paanch. Junior Mehmood is Naeem Sayed Mehmood; it was given to him after appearing with him in Suhaag Raat (1968).

Mehmood Junior began acting at age nine when he appeared alongside Sanjeev Kumru in the movie ‘Naunihal.’ Other cast members, such as Balraj Sahni and Indrani Mukherjee, also appeared. Since then, he has produced Marathi films.

Celebrities Pay Tribute To Junior Mehmood

On Friday morning, celebrities such as Johnny Lever and Rakesh Bedi paid their respects to late actor Junior Mehmood, who passed away early Friday morning after fighting stage four cancer for nearly seven years.

Johnny Lever was joined by his son Jamie Lever and daughter Jessy Lever on their visit to Junior Mehmood’s house for his memorial.
