Sam Bahadur is a biographical war film based on the life of India’s first Field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. It will be aired on ZEE5 on Republic Day this week. Vicky will play Manekshaw in the film.

It will cover his life from his early years as a cadet in 1934 to his pivotal role in the Indo-Pak War in 1971. The film explores Manekshaw’s life as a soldier, including his marriage and meetings with influential political figures.

2. Animals

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal is expected to be released this week via OTT giant Netflix. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is set to make its OTT debut at the end of January.

This will clash with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. According to the latest media reports, Animal, which already caused controversy after its theatrical release, would have an uncut, extended version on the streaming platform.

3. Griselda

This week, Netflix will release the Sofia Vergara-starrer Griselda. The miniseries features Sofia in the role of Griselda, a notorious Colombian drug lord who was also known as the “Godmother” of Cocaine during the 1980s.

The drama, directed by Andres Baz, the man behind Narcos, will examine Blanco’s rise to power in Miami’s male-dominated underworld. Sofia will play the fierce ‘queenpin’ role as she undergoes an enormous transformation.

4. Karmma Calling

This week, Raveena’s long-awaited OTT series Karmma Calling is finally available on Disney Plus Hotstar. The Hindi drama is based on the ABC show ‘Revenge.’

It revolves around a woman who tries to avenge the wrongs done to her deceased father. Raveena, aka Indrani, is the one who comes into play as she remains on top of the list. Raveena Tandon will play a seemingly negative role in this show.

5. Badland Hunters

Netflix has brought another Korean film titled Badland Hunters to all Korean movie lovers. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic Seoul. It shows how the city becomes a wasteland following a devastating quake.

A relentless hunter, Nam-san navigates a civilization without law. The film is about a struggle for survival between natural threats and human enemies in a dystopian society. The film has been described as a sequel to 2023’s Concrete Utopia.
