Shreyanka Patil: Royal Challengers Bangalore, a team of Indian origin from Bangalore, has made history by winning the first-ever WPL title. They beat Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley stadium on Sunday with an eight-wicket victory.
Shreyanka Patil was the star of RCB’s bowling unit, as she took four wickets and helped them defeat DC by 113 runs. RCB fans laud Shreyanka Patil for earning the Purple Cap by taking 13 wickets during the season.
TrendsMyth reported that the star player won hearts for her heroics during this year’s WPL, and fans have already dubbed her the “new national crush.”
Patil, who was born in Kalaburagi (Karnataka) on 31st July 2002, is a native of Karnataka. In December 2023, she made her debut as an international player for India in a T20I match against England.
Royal Challengers Bangalore has signed Shreyanka Patil for Rs 10 lakh at the WPL auction 2023.
She was in ‘beast mode’ and unleashed all of her potential with the ball. Shreyanka has taken 13 wickets at an average of 12.07 in eight matches, and her best bowling stats are 4/12. She won the Purple Cap award for the most wickets.
She thanked her fans for their support, saying, “They had a great start, but we didn’t let down our guard.” Every moment was a joy. The wicket had something. “If there is even a slight turn, I feel like a completely different animal.”
Smriti Mandhana said, “The feeling is still not there.” I find it hard to express myself. I’m proud of this group. “We have had ups and downs, but they have stuck with it. The way we got past the line was amazing.”
Virat Kohli is Shreyanka’s inspiration. Shreyanka met India’s star footballer in her teens and took a picture with him.
“My father’s close friend was in the RCB Management and I asked for a photo with Virat as he is my inspiration. After I had finished my practice for my state, I went to Chinnaswamy.
He then came over and grabbed the phone so he could take a selfie. “Wow” was my reaction. I didn’t get to speak to him at the time, which I did, but it was an amazing moment.
Love Bowling at the Death
Shreyanka bowled both for RCB as well as the Indian team in the final overs. The youngster stated that she enjoys bowling in the dying overs while trying to remain calm under pressure.
“I wanted to be that bowler, the one who could bowl in all phases. It is always a challenge to bowl in the death. It is not easy to be an off-spinner.“
“I love that role, and I believe I’m doing a great job,” Shreyanka said. Shreyanka said, “Be calm and know exactly what you need to bowl when you start your run-up.”
Shreyanka played for the Guyana Amazon Warriors last year in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League. She finished the tournament as the top wicket-taker.
