However, the producer of Asit Kumar Modi sitcom has finally broken his silence and stated that no cancellation is planned for now.

Asit Modi issued a clarification to Telly Chakkar and was reported by media outlets as having indicated that TMKOC will not go off the air any time soon.

Reportedly, their production house is searching for an actor to play Dayaben; once found, he will return to production.

Asit Kumarr Modi told Telly Chakkar of Asit Kumarr Modi’s statement to Telly Chakkar: “My purpose in life is to entertain audiences, and I won’t lie to my viewers. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we could not bring Dayaben back on time.

This doesn’t mean the character won’t make an appearance. Time will tell who takes Daya’s place. Time will also reveal whether Disha Vakani returns as Daya or someone else; either way, I promise audiences Daya will return soon enough, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah won’t go anywhere – 15 years of running a show that hasn’t taken a single step away.”

TMKOC celebrated its 15th Anniversary in 2017, and Daya Bhabhi (Disha Vaskani) played Daya Jethalal Gada for much of that time. She last appeared in 2017.

Did Dayaben Not Return In TMKOC

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah remains one of the most-watched television sitcoms, regularly making headlines and garnering considerable buzz from fans and critics alike.

Recently, however, fans’ excitement has been amplified as they eagerly anticipate Dayaben’s return after her extended absence; viewers have shown great curiosity regarding her return.

Asit Kumarr Modi issued a statement clarifying that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will remain on air. In it, he stated: “I aim to entertain audiences, and I won’t lie to my viewers.

However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we were not able to bring back Daya’s character in time due to certain restrictions; however, this doesn’t mean she won’t appear again.

Time will tell if that means Disha Vakani or someone else – however, I guarantee my viewers Daya will return, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah won’t go anywhere; running such an original show since 15 years isn’t easy, and it hasn’t seen a single change during its 15-year run.”

When Is Dayaben Coming Back? Monaz Mevawala Answers

Monaz Mevawalla made this statement shortly after social media users expressed their displeasure over Dayaben’s absence from TMKOC.

Fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have long been pining for Dayaben to return. Since Disha Vakani left her role as Daya Jethalal on Asit Kumarr’s show for indefinite maternity leave in 2017, viewers have eagerly awaited her return.

While Asit Modi has repeatedly said that TMKOC is looking for her replacement, Mevawalla joined TMKOC in the role of Roshan Sodhi.

She told Bollywood Life that she wasn’t sure of its meaning: Days earlier, viewers of TMKOC had expressed their displeasure with its absence.

Later that week, Asit Modi issued a statement clarifying these reports were false; many had believed the show would go off the air shortly and implied Dayaben may return immediately or shortly after that. He asserted that the character Dayaben would return soon, even if it took some time.

“My goal is to entertain viewers without ever misleading them. Due to certain circumstances, Daya hasn’t returned yet – however, that doesn’t mean she won’t appear again – I assure the audience Daya will come back eventually.”

Running a comedy for 15 years is no simple task, but that doesn’t stop Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah from staying relevant – one statement read: ”Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is unrivalled; running an endless comedy is no easy feat”.

Asit Modi released a statement when TMKOC celebrated 15 years, promising that fan favourite Dayaben would return.

“On this journey of 15 years of success, I would like to congratulate all of you and, in particular, Daya Bhabhi/Disha Vaskani, who has entertained and amused us for years – she will soon return to Taarak Mehta ka ooltah chashmah.”
