A Mumbai Metro train carrying over 300 passengers was hijacked by six women, led by Priyamani (Sanya Malhotra and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya) as hostages, along with an older man (Shahrukh Khan), pretending to be Army Captain but who only wants negotiations with Narmada Rai (Nayanthara), an arresting police officer (who insists she only wants negotiations).

Vijay Sethupathi and an uneducated agriculture minister named Kali Gaekwad engage in a dialogue in which one end relates a story of Omkar Das Manikpuri farmer forced to commit suicide after defaulting on his Rs 40,000 tractor loan, while on the other, we hear how a bank waived off an industrialist loan of equal magnitude – both cases being presented for debate by Vijay Sethupathi and Kali Gaekwad respectively.

Azad, a jail warden from New Hampshire, has transformed the lives of women prisoners with his progressive ideas. Together with six women who experienced abuse by those in power, he’s determined to change how both prisons and nations function.

After intermission, Jawan tells the tale of Azad’s birth, Deepika Padukone’s fate (in an unforgettable special appearance), their relationship, and its outcome. Additionally, he discusses Kaveri (Riddhi Dogra), a former women’s jailer.

Once flashbacks end, the movie resumes its narrative about an evil tycoon who uses money to try and influence election processes; our protagonist and his allies band together against him and his accomplices.

Director Atlee and her team excel in the chase scenes leading up to the climax, creating some of the most thrilling action sequences in film. At the film’s conclusion, SRK (impeccable as always) and Vijay Sethupathi square off for an electrifying final act that combines brilliant writing (Sumit writes accurate Hindi dialogues) with technical finesse and audience appeal.

Jawan is an entertaining film that showcases an actor with a unique voice – both on screen and off. His power shines brightly throughout.
