On Friday in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Ayodhya Airport, named for Maharishi Valmiki – one of Maharishi Valmiki’s poems credited for contributing to the Ramayana epic.

Jyotiraditya Skindia, Union Civil Aviation Minister, stated that Modi had pledged to create modern railway stations and airports worldwide.

PM Modi will then flag off two Amrit Bharat trains (Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express and Malda Town-Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Amrit Bharat Express) along with six Vande Bharat trains (Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express).

Ayodhya will be getting its airport dubbed “Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham,” which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2014.

On Thursday, sources informed TrendsMyth that the Uttar Pradesh government plans to name their airport ‘Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham,’ following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned inauguration on Saturday.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate Ayodhya Dham Junction, the newly renovated railway station within Ayodhya.

This move forms part of Ayodhya’s preparations for its grand consecration ceremony on January 22. Many prominent dignitaries will attend.

Ayodhya Airport International will be named in honour of Maharishi Valmiki, author of the epic Ramayana. Construction costs exceeded Rs 1,450 crore for this airport, which spans an area of 6,500 square metres and can accommodate over 10 lakh passengers per year.

The airport building is designed to be a replica of the Ram Temple, featuring murals, paintings, and indigenous artwork that depict different aspects of Lord Ram’s life.

Key Features of Ayodhya Airport

The new airport boasts sustainable features such as an insulated roof system, LED lighting and rainwater harvesting systems, landscaping with fountains, and water treatment facilities such as an ozone plant and solar power plant to achieve GRIHA star ratings of five stars.

The Prime Minister’s Office released a statement outlining PM Modi’s vision for revitalising Ayodhya city. To fulfil their vision, Ayodhya city officials have launched numerous projects designed to make Ayodhya more beautiful and welcoming, including inaugurating a brand new airport and railway station, redeveloped roads and civic infrastructure projects – including laying foundation stones for projects designed to beautify and renovate Ayodhya civic facilities.

The statement added that foundation stones would also be applied for many other beautification projects to enhance and renovate civic facilities within its borders.
