Alia Bhatt, a Bollywood actress, and Ranbir Kapoor have been invited to the upcoming consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. This comes after Kapoor has been criticised for his diet, especially being called a beef eater.

Ranbir Kapoor is under scrutiny from the right-wing Hindutva ecosystem, which has been called to boycott him for admitting in an interview that he eats beef. Hindutva activists called for a boycott of the movie “Brahmastra” when it was released.

Right-wing users referred to Ranbir by the nickname “big beef guy” during the boycott campaign of his film Brahmastra (a reference made in an interview where Ranbir stated, “I am a large beef guy.”

Recent invitations to the ceremony have further fuelled discontent in the right-wing communities, who question the decision to invite Kapoor and Alia Bhatt to the religious event. Alia Bhatt has been criticised for her inclusion by some critics, who cite her father’s perceived anti-Hindu stance.

Mahaveer Jain has released a statement confirming that both actors will attend the ceremony on January 22. The statement stated that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh extended the invitation to the actors during a meeting.

The controversy over the invitation has added tension to the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony. Despite the objections, Bollywood celebrities such as Amitabh, Ajay Devgn, Sunny Deol, Prabhas Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, and Akshay are expected to attend the event.

Social media went wild with photos of Ranbir and Alia Kapoor at the Ram Mandir’s inaugural ceremony. Soon after, people began to wonder if Ranbir had stopped eating beef. Devotees of Lord Ram also ask why Ranbir is invited to the ceremony.

Ranbir Kapoor revealed in an interview a few days after Brahamstra was released that he has quit drinking and smoking since the birth of Raha, his daughter.

Ranbir Kapoor Beef Controversy

Ranbir Kapoor is criticised and trolled for many things, including his personal life and remarks. Ranbir Kapoor caused controversy recently regarding his Christmas celebration. This was a reference to hurting religious sentiments. This was not new for him, as he had caused controversy over beef.

In an interview for the movie Rockstar, he stated that his family was from Peshawar, so they brought a lot of food. He is also a beef, mutton fan. The video was shared on the internet 11 years later when he starred in Brahmastra. It was a religious film, and he played Shiva.

Ranbir Kapoor’s comment about eating beef caused a stir, and people in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, refused to let them enter the Temple.

The Bajrang Dal workers or other devotees prohibited Ranbir Kapoor from entering the temple premises. They shouted Jai Shree Ram slogans and protested. The police later brought the protest under control.

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and the director Ayan Mukerji did not visit the Temple, but Ayan visited and received blessings for his film. The movie was a success.
