IND vs ENG 2nd Test: India Win in A Exciting Game & Equal The Series by 1-1

IND vs ENG: On Day 4, India defeated England by 106 runs to tie the series at 1-1. The match was played at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. R Ashwin, Bumrah, and Ashwin were the top bowlers with 3 wickets.

Shubman’s return to form helped India set an impressive target of 399 for England, which the Bazballers will likely chase down on Monday.

On Sunday at Stumps, England was in a strong position with 67/1. The middle pair of ‘nighthawk Rehan Ahmed (batting 9) and Zak Crawley (30) were the key players.

Ben Duckett, the other opener, had a quickfire start with 27 runs off 28 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin then sent him to the pavilion.

Gill had earlier scored 104 to help India reach the target. Axar Patel supported him with his 45, but others, such as Srikar Bharat or Ashwin, could not add much.

The fourth day of play began with Zack Crawley, the England opener, and Rehan Ahmed as the nightwatchman. They faced Jasprit Bhumrah (nightwatchman) and Axar Patel (nightwatchman).

Axar Patel, who had been hammered to death by Ahmed earlier in the day, dismissed the lower-order batsman at 23 runs. This was India’s first breakthrough on the fourth day.

England set the pace, scoring around five runs per over during the first session. Ollie Pope started his innings aggressively, hitting Axar Patel for a four and maintaining a strike-rate of over 100.

Pope was finally dismissed when he attempted to play a stroke off Ashwin and was caught by Rohit Sharma at slip.

Similarly, Joe Root began his innings by hitting Ashwin with two boundaries in his first three balls. Root was dismissed for 16 after attempting to step outside his crease to hit Ashwin with a big shot.

Before lunch, India tipped the game’s balance to their advantage with two important wickets. Jonny Bairstow was taken out, and Zack Crawley, who had been well-set up for the match, was also dismissed. Two new batters took the crease during the second session.

Ben Stokes, Ben Foakes, and Ben Foakes were all looking comfortable on the crease during the day’s second session. However, a direct strike from Shreyas Iyer ended Stokes’ innings.

The Indian batsmen showed their skill on Day 3 after the Indian bowlers dominated the DAY 2 action, led by Jasprit’s ‘Sixfer,’ and scored 255 in the second innings of the second test against England at the ACA/VDCA Cricket Stadium Visakhapatnam.

Shubman Gil’s (104) third test century in just 147 balls was why India set England a target of 399. He scored 11 fours and two sixes. Shubman Gill is the third Indian after 2018 to score a hundred, playing at number 3.

Axar Patel, a bowler from India, scored 45 runs on 84 deliveries. Other Indian batters could not impress much, and India was all out in 78.3 Overs at 255.

Rehan Ahmed and James Anderson each took 2 wickets for England. Shoaib Bahir, a debutant, clinched one wicket in the second innings.

KS Bharat caught Ben Duckett behind on the fifth delivery in the 11th over. England was chasing 399. Ashwin is only 1 wicket from his 500th Test wicket.

On DAY 3, England was 67/1 after 14 overs. Zak Crawley, Rehan Ahmed, and Zak Crawley are at the crease. England needs 332 runs to win.

England had dominated the morning opening session, with four crucial wickets taken by Rohit Sharma (along with Yashasvi Iswal, Shreyasi Iyer, and Rajat Patel).

Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliance on the ball quickly turned the match India’s way. England had made their usual aggressive beginning, placing pressure on India’s spinners and pacers. They were well placed at the 114/1 mark at one point.

Bumrah had 6 wickets in the match, conceding only 45 runs. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Patel shared the remaining 4 wickets. England’s innings finished at 253, 143 behind India’s total.

India Win

India vs England: Jasprit Bumrah takes out Tom Hartley and puts the nail in the coffin for India’s 106-run victory. He ended the match with a nine-wicket haul and 336 wickets in the second innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin remains at 499 and must wait to take his 500th test wicket. He also took 3/72 from 18 overs.

India won the series by completing the two sessions and grabbing the 9 remaining wickets. The visitors also showed some resistance. Zak Crawley was the top scorer with 73 runs, and Ben Foakes followed suit with 36 each.

Joe Root attempted to speed up the innings by batting a 16-ball 10-ball, but it was not enough to sustain the Indian attack. India wins the match with four sessions remaining in the game.
