KFC in Ayodhya: Ayodhya is becoming a tourist hub after the Ram Mandir was opened last month. Several food chains are planning to open stores in the holy city.
However, they must adhere to one condition: They can only serve an “all-vegetarian” menu. Ayodhya’s administration has banned the sale of meat and liquor within the Panch Kosi Mar.
The Panch Kosi Parikrama in the city is a 15 km pilgrimage circuit that includes sacred sites related to Ramayana.
We have received offers from prominent food chains to open their stores in Ayodhya. “We welcome them, but with one restriction: they cannot serve non-vegetarian food inside the Panch Kosi,” Vishal, a government representative, told Trendsmyth.
Officials said the outlets selling non-vegetarian foods are outside the 14 Kosi Parikrama Mar. Singh said that US-based Kentucky Fried Chicken can open a store in the city if it’s prepared only to serve an “all-vegetarian” menu.
KFC opened its Ayodhya to Lucknow highway unit because we don’t allow non-vegetarian foods here. “We are willing to give KFC space if they decide to only sell vegetarian food items,” Singh said.
On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ‘pran pratishtha,’ or the consecration ceremony for the Ram Lalla idol at the newly constructed Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. During his visit, he also met with the ‘ Shramjeevi,’ who helped build the grand temple.
Ayodhya’s ban on non-vegetarian foods is not the only one. Haridwar, the holy city, has also imposed a similar restriction within its city limits.
KFC is located outside the city on the Haridwar -Roorkee Highway. Sharad Kapoor is the President of the Faizabad Hotel Association.
Ayodhya was visited by people from the neighbouring districts in the first days after the Ram Mandir’s inauguration. Still, visitors are now coming from all over the state.
These people come from all over the country and know a lot about pizzas and hamburgers. Trendsmyth reported Kapoor saying that the chain stores famous for pizzas, burgers and other fast food are now rushing to open their shops in Ayodhya.
According to the state government’s estimates, Ayodhya will likely witness 10-12 lakh visitors each week until Ram Navami April 17.

Ayodhya saw a massive increase in visitors after the Ram Mandir was consecrated on January 22, 2018. Numerous eateries opened to serve the devotees.
KFC Ayodhya’s branch is located along the Ayodhya – Lucknow highway. Domino’s, Pizza Hut, and other popular chains have also adapted their menus to offer vegetarian options only.
Transforming Ayodhya Into A World-Class Metropolis
The next phase of Ayodhya’s redevelopment has been set in motion by the authorities after the consecration of the Ram Temple. A top official stated that the vision is to transform the town into a “world-class city” with its heritage at its heart.
Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal told the media that he “achieved” the general targets set by the administration of the holy city in preparation for the event on January 22, 2024.
The four road corridors and the city’s beautification were addressed by talking to all stakeholders. “All those things have already been done,” he said.
Ram Path and Dharm Path at Ayodhya
The 13-km Ram Path with its four lanes and the two-km Dharma Path decorated with 40 Surya Stamps – the main streets of Ayodhya – as well as the Bhakti Path (the most beautiful road in Ayodhya) and Ram Janmabhoomi Path were all included.
Before construction could begin, the government was required to conduct a massive demolition. The road widening along the main road — now known as Ram Path.
Which runs from Sahadatganj, in Faizabad Town, to Naya Ghat Chauraha, in Ayodhya, took a little over a year and was completed in January.
According to official statistics, the project affected approximately 3,100 properties. This included over 2,200 shops and old houses, among other structures.
The owners and occupants who occupied many of these properties resisted the administration. Some of these buildings were ornamental in design.
