Oppo Reno 11 Pro is now available in India, just five months after Oppo Reno 10 made its debut. Oppo claims that its Reno Series is a better value for customers and wants to improve hardware performance.
It also explains that, apart from chipsets and design, many of its specifications are identical to those of its predecessor. Software improvements were made to improve the camera experience and other features.
Like last year, the latest Oppo Reno 11 Pro is available in the sub-Rs 40,000 segment. This product will remain at the same price of Rs 39,999. Is the Oppo Reno 11 Pro worth your hard-earned cash? Could you find out more in our review?
Display, Design, And Build
Oppo Reno 11 now looks more elegant. It’s not surprising. Oppo is known for its innovative designs and luxurious feel in the hand. This new model is no exception.
The device is a premium model with a marble finish, a subtle shine, and a unique texture. This contrasts with the silver ring that surrounds the rear camera module.
Oppo’s latest phone has a slim design and curved corners and is lightweight. Oppo Reno 11 Pro is a phone that has it all. This gives a high level of comfort while using the device.
It is made of black frosted glass, which makes it a little slippery. Oppo includes a high-quality case with the retail package, which doesn’t add weight to the device.
The side buttons are easily accessible for people with large hands, but they may be difficult to reach by those with smaller hands.
No IP rating is available for protection against dust and water. This feature is available in some brands for as little as Rs 30,000.
Its build quality is solid and shouldn’t be damaged easily if dropped. I did this, and there were no dents. The screen also has AGC’s solid Dragontrail Star 2 cover on the front and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the back.
The Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G has the same display that its predecessor had. We are okay with it because the show is excellent for the price.
The panel is bright, the text looks sharp, and the slightly warmer tones make the UI and content friendly. The peak brightness could be better than the competition. In harsh sunlight, the content is not fully visible. When taking photos in bright sunlight, it can be challenging to see them.
The device is bright enough to withstand a maximum brightness of 950 nits. It is an excellent panel for viewing content. The adaptive refresh rate is very effective.
Support is available for 60Hz (automatically adjusted) and 90Hz (based on content). The device did not function properly even when I saved settings at 120Hz.
It’s strange, and I had no choice but to enable the 120Hz option in developer mode for my desired applications. The adaptive refresh rate is reasonable and helps to save battery life, as the 90 Hz or 120Hz option is not selected when you use apps like Camera or static content.
Battery Life And General Performance
Under the hood, Oppo Reno 11 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity chipset. It is not a high-end smartphone, so, understandably, this only provides users with some raw power.
It is a smooth performer for everyday tasks and can handle games such as Call of Duty: Mobile or Asphalt 9 on medium settings.
Genshin Impact is only playable at low settings, as it’s a graphically intensive game. On medium settings, I noticed stutters when switching between characters or fighting scenes.
The phone scored a respectable 85% in the CPU Throttle Benchmark Test, which indicates that the chipset does not throttle, even when under heavy load.
You can get maximum performance when running intensive tasks. However, this may come at the expense of battery life and a slight increase in temperature.
The back of your phone may get slightly warmer when playing games. Delhi is experiencing an extreme winter, so summer temperatures could increase.
Software optimization is also responsible for the excellent performance of a smartphone. The software is very polished, and the users receive all utilities.
However, there is also some bloatware. It is easy to uninstall any apps you don’t use. Oppo Reno 11 Pro has a futuristic design, as the company promises three years of major Android OS upgrades. The phone comes pre-installed with Android 14 OS. The haptics could have been a little better.
It’s a relief that the battery doesn’t run out mid-day. The storm lasted less than a full day with light to medium use, including a few quick photo sessions, Instagram scrolling for hours, WhatsApp messaging, and calling.
Video watching and gaming did decrease battery life at a faster rate due to the increased CPU load. Oppo supports 80W fast charging, which takes just 25 minutes to charge a device from 2% to 100%.
Camera Performance
Oppo Reno 11 Pro’s camera is a crucial selling point. The Oppo Reno 11 Pro smartphone has a triple 50-megapixel rear camera.
It is also worth noting that it comes with a telephoto lens, which you won’t find in smartphones priced under Rs 40,000. This allows for better portraits. Let’s look at the camera performance.
This Oppo smartphone can take great photos in daylight with good detail and a well-managed dynamic spectrum for its price. In most scenes, the sharpness and colours are accurate.
There is no purple fringing or over-saturation. If you want to take photos with greater clarity and detail, the High-Res setting in the Camera application is for you.
