India Announce T20I Squad Against AFG See Here Full List

India T20I Squad: India and Afghanistan will participate in a T20I Series following their current South Africa Tour, starting January 11 at IS Bindra Stadium Mohali, with games taking place January 14-17.

Afghanistan has never beaten India in a T20 International competition before. In their four previous matches against each other, they have been completely dominated by India – they, therefore, hope that in this forthcoming T20I series, Afghanistan can notch its first-ever win over them.

India will look to defend their winning record. It may field a younger squad against Afghanistan – much like they used against South Africa and Australia in the previous series. We’ll go over India’s T20 squad prediction for Afghanistan here.

India T20 Squad For Afghanistan Series

Openers- Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill

India may select Yashasvi Jaimewal to open with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Ghll as openers in this match-up against Australia in November’s T20I Series when Gaikwad scored 223 runs over five matches for Australia – including innings and 50.

Gaikwad led Australia’s run-scoring in that tournament by amassing 641 runs with two centuries and 50s to become its leading run scorer of this format tournament.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had an outstanding performance. She amassed 144 runs at an astounding strike rate of 16.+ and made 50 runs in one game alone.

Additionally, Jaiswal impressed during the South Africa T20I Series by scoring six runs over two matches.

Shubman Gil had difficulty scoring runs in South Africa, but management could give him more chances against Afghanistan.

Middle-Order Batters- Suryakumar Yadav (C), Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh

Suryakumar Yadav will represent Team India in the T20I Series against Afghanistan and is likely to captain in Hardik Pandya’s absence. His right-handed batting has shown great form in both series against Australia and South Africa.

Tilak Vama had two impressive performances against South Africa this year, scoring 156 runs over two games and 144 over five. Tilak could be considered an effective middle-order batsman, having featured heavily in T20I matches.

Rinku Singh may join the squad following his impressive performance against South Africa and Australia in the previous series, scoring 82 runs at an excellent strike rate (167+ in two games against South Africa) while making 105 runs against Australia (strike rate: 175) in four matches.

Wicketkeepers- Jitesh Sharma, Sanju Samson

Ishan Kishan has been sidelined from national duty due to an overwhelming workload. Jitesh Samson and Sanju Sharma could take up the responsibility of keeping wickets in Afghanistan’s series against India.

Sharma performed exceptionally against Australia, scoring 24 runs in one game. Meanwhile, Sanju Samuel displayed great form against South Africa where he scored his maiden ODI century.

Washington Sundar and Axar Patel are both All-Rounders

Washington Sundar and Axar Patel could be selected for the T20I Series against Afghanistan. Washington Sundar played in the previous series with Australia and South Africa. Axar Patel had a great T20I series with the Aussies. He took six wickets in 5 games.

Spinners- Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav

Both Ravi Bishnoi (left) and Kuldeep Yadav (right) are likely to be in the Indian T20I team against Afghanistan. Both players have shown impressive performances in previous series.

Bishnoi, a right-arm spinner, took nine wickets during the Australia series and was named Player of the Series. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep YADAV finished as the top wicket-taker in South Africa after he clinched six wickets.

Pacers- Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Deepak Chahar

Arshdeep, Mukesh, and Deepak could feature prominently in the India vs Afghanistan T20I Series. Arshdeep Sing participated in the previous T20I Series against Australia, taking four wickets while taking one against Proteas over two games.

Mukesh Kumar took three wickets against South Africa in two matches and four against Australia over four games, with Mukesh Kuma showing consistent performance throughout this recent series.

Deepak Chahar unfortunately had to withdraw due to personal reasons but still played against Australia, where he took two wickets.

Complete Squad Overview: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Sanju Samson, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Deepak Chahar

IND vs AFG T20s: Hardik Pandya to miss Afghanistan series – reports

IND VS AFG: According to news agency ANI and their source of information, Pandya will be unavailable for the T20 series against Afghanistan but should become fit enough for inclusion in the Indian Premier League (2024).

Hardik Pandya remains at the center of fitness speculation. Reports from ANI indicate he will likely miss Afghanistan’s three-match T20 series this coming January.

News agency ANI cited sources as reporting that Pandya will miss the T20 Series against Afghanistan due to injury; he hopes, however, to return in time for Indian Premier League 2024.

Meanwhile, The Times of India reported a week ago that Hardik had begun bowling in nets. Pandya is expected to lead Team India against Afghanistan;

However, its selection remains pending as both Suryakumar Gaikwad and Ruturaj Yadav have sustained injuries, while Pandya played for India at the ICC Cricket World Cup. He played four games, taking five wickets for an outstanding bowling figure of 2/34.

Against Australia, he scored 11* before an ankle injury sustained during a league stage game against Bangladesh on October 19 sidelined him from further participation.

Pandya missed both T20Is against Australia as well as T20Is and ODIs during India’s tour of South Africa last year due to injuries.

Suryakumar Rahul led their T20I games while KL Yadav took charge in ODIs; Pandya and Rohit Sharma did not feature after Australia won the World Cup Final. India will host Afghanistan for a T20 International Series starting January 11, 2016.
