Dubai is experiencing unusual weather patterns, with heavy rainfall in dubai and hail storms affecting its otherwise dry climate. Dubai has been flooded by sudden clouds that poured down heavily in the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai’s government employees have been told to work from home up until Tuesday, February 13. On February 13, the UAE’s education authority declared that distance learning will continue in all government schools.
The National Center of Meteorology also issued a Red and Amber Alert, warning of continuing wet weather. In Abu Dhabi, hail was reported. Residents of the UAE were surprised by the sudden change in the weather.
TrendsMyth reports that heavy rains were reported in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. A report from the Gulf News said on Monday that streams of rainwater were forming in valleys of some areas of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
Dubai has been hit by a sudden downpour that has created flood-like conditions. The cars were seen wading in flooded roads. Other cars were stuck in water because drainage systems could not cope with the heavy downpour.
The NCM has issued an orange alert for weather instability across the UAE. Loud thunderclaps and lightning reportedly woke up Dubai residents on Monday morning.
According to the NCM, this period of instability is caused by “an extension of an upper air depression accompanied with a cold mass and a westerly air current,” as well as different amounts of clouds that are flowing over the country.
The departments of road and public services in the seven emirates also issued a number of safety warnings to motorists who are driving through rainy areas. Lightning struck the Burj Khalifa – the tallest artificial structure in the world.
The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a 2-day visit to the UAE starting on February 13. It will be Modi’s seventh visit to the UAE and his third in eight months.
