Watch! David Warner Got “Guard Of Honour” By Pakistani Players

AUS vs PAK: On the first morning of the final and third Test match at Sydney Cricket Ground, Australian batter David Warner was honoured with a “Guard of Honour” from Pakistani players as he made his final Test appearance there – in special recognition.

Pakistanis presented Warner with this tribute while he played one last Test on his home ground, Sydney Cricket Ground. Warner is an impressive left-handed batsman who has amassed an astounding total of 8,695 runs in 111 tests at an average of 45.58 runs per match.

This remarkable record includes 26 centuries. Warner has made an indelible mark on Australian Cricket with his consistent performances throughout his Test career, becoming an influential part of its fabric.

In 2019, his highest unbeaten individual score was 335 runs, and this performance cemented Warner’s place as an effective and integral figure within Australian Cricket.

Warner has demonstrated his remarkable batting prowess during this Test Series. In two matches alone, he amassed an impressive total of 208 runs while maintaining an outstanding average of 52.

Mitchell Marsh leads the chart for highest run-scorers. His average of 96.67 runs has made a significant contribution to the success of his team in this series.

Shan Masood, Pakistan captain, won the toss in Sydney’s test match and elected to bat first. Their first innings score totaled 313 runs, with Mohammad Rizwan leading them with an outstanding performance by scoring 88 runs from 103 balls, which included ten fours and two sixes.

Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, showcased his exceptional bowling abilities by taking five wickets over 18 overs while only conceding 61 runs.

Mitchell Starc was also instrumental. The left-arm took two wickets while conceding 75 runs in 16 overs; Josh Hazelwood, Nathan Lyon, and Mitchell Marsh each collected a wicket as well.

Australia responded on the opening day by batting for one over, featuring David Warner and Usman Khawaja at the crease.

Warner made an immediate impact in his final Test by scoring fours from his first ball faced from off-spinner Sajid. On the opening day of play, Australia scored six runs without conceding any wickets.

David Warner’s Moving Entrance

Warner paid a touching tribute to the late Phillip Hughes by touching the mural of the dressing room. Warner shared a warm embrace with Khawaja before heading to the crease.

Pakistan’s Sporting Gesture

Pakistani team captain Shan Masood organised two lines to applaud and show respect to Warner as he prepared to face Khawaja in the final over of that day. Warner was visibly touched by their gesture and exchanged handshakes before taking his place at the crease.

Pakistan Set A Competitive Total

Pakistan had an exceptional day earlier today when they batted first and scored 313 runs after electing to bat first. Mohammad Rizwan contributed 88 runs despite early wickets falling. Aamer Jamal provided valuable support by scoring 82 runs to help Pakistan attain an ambitious total.

Pat Cummins is Australia’s Chief Wrecker

Pat Cummins led Australia with five wickets at an economy rate of just 61 runs; Mitchell Starc (2/75), Josh Hazlewood (1/25), Nathan Lyon (1/74) and Mitchell Marsh (1/27) also claimed wickets.

As soon as Pakistan finished their innings, Australian openers only needed to last out one over and keep Sajid at bay in order to keep alive their dream of an emotional farewell test.

Warner faced six balls from Sajid and kept the fairytale goal of this farewell Test alive before continuing Australia’s innings with Usman Khawaja on Day 2, Wednesday, in Sydney.
