The temple tourism industry in India will get a big boost with the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Jefferies analysts expect that at least 100 million people will visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya annually.

Comparatively, around 9 million people visit Vatican City, the home of the Roman Catholic church and the Pope. Around 20 million people visit Mecca, the holy place of Muslims.

Reuters reported that “creating a religious tourist centre in Ayodhya with better connectivity and infrastructure could have a significant economic impact.”

According to the report, India currently generates $200 billion in revenue (7% of India’s economy) from tourism.

The Indian government is set to boost India’s tourism industry by providing financial support for pilgrimage sites.

The report highlights the changes in Varanasi after the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor was inaugurated. Reuters cited government data to report that more than 130 million tourists have visited Varanasi since the inauguration.

According to the report, there were only 7,000,000 tourists visiting the city each year before the development and construction of the corridor in Varanasi. According to the report, locals in Varanasi and hoteliers have seen their incomes increase by as much as 65%.

The plan pratishtha, or the consecration ceremony for Lord Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22.

Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Has Received Rs 11 Crore in Donations Since Its Grand Opening

The temple trust reported that over 25 lakh devotees visited the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya following its consecration, which took place on January 22 and gave more than Rs 11 billion as an offering.

Prakash Gupta of the office in charge of the temple trust told PTI that it has been 11 days since the temple opened its doors to the public.

Rs 8 crore was deposited as an offering in the donation boxes, while Rs 3.5 lakhs were donated via cheques or online payments.

Four donation boxes are in the temple’s sanctum, which houses the Ram Lalla and Balak Ram idols. The boxes are located along the ‘darshan’ path, where devotees go to pray to the deity before the sanctum.

In addition, 10 counters with computerised donations have been installed. Ram devotees may make online payments using various payment methods, including cheques.

After the counter closes at night, a 14-member team of 11 bank employees, three temple trust employees, and one employee from the temple counts the donations deposited into the donation boxes.

The entire process is under CCTV surveillance, including the donations and the total amount. Ayodhya is preparing for more devotees to reach the Ram Temple over the next few months as the bitter cold subsides in North India.

Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, held a meeting on Monday with senior state and district officials in the control room at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Complex to ensure that devotees reach the temple safely.

We expect a significant increase in tourists and Ram devotees to Ayodhya with the improved weather and reduced cold. “We must take extra care to make it easy for devotees to see Ram Lalla,” he said.

Yesterday, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Minister of Civil Aviation in India, inaugurated nonstop flights connecting Ayodhya with eight other cities throughout India.

SpiceJet has announced direct flights to Ayodhya for Darbhanga and other cities in India, including Ahmedabad. Chennai, Jaipur. Patna. Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Last month, the much-anticipated temple of Lord Ram Lalla opened after a grand ceremony attended by several dignitaries such as celebrities and business people.

The second phase, expected to be finished by December 2025, will be built on the 70-acre site where the first phase was built.
